Fairie Quilts

In 2003, my daughter and I joined the Fairie Goddess Mothers group on yahoo (click to learn more about this project). We complete two quilts just in time to be send to the project coordinator, Linda Poole, to be included in the Fairie Tales exhibit at the AQS show in Nashville in August 2004.

My daughter Phoebe wanted to do a fairie, too, but her sewing skills were pretty minimal (not to mention that she has the attention span and very busy life of a typical 16YO female). So I sewed much of her fairie, although she guided me in design and fabric choices. And she did much of the embellishment, too, include the very clever tulle waves. I did have to come to her rescue on the treasure chest; there are way too many beads in it!
