The New River - A Fabric Postcard |
||||
|
Look below for the original photograph. I made this fabric
postcard in 1995 to enter the American Quilter's Society contest (based
on the book Fabric Postcards by Judi Warren) in hopes of winning an all-expense
paid trip to Paducah (where Daddy's Quilt would be on display). The postcard
is based on a photograph I took of my (now ex-) husband and two kids while
on vacation in West Virginia in 1994. We had found this lovely place,
this parking lot next to the river, in a valley, on some road somewhere,
where we could wade in and play in the water. It was the most peaceful
place I think I've ever been in my entire life. There's something very
spiritual about that place. (2000) |
